Northease Manor School

Human Resources Officer

Northease Manor School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and ambitious HR Officer who has worked in a school, charity or similar HR environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to work in a specialist SEND charity, contributing to the smooth operations of Human Resources across all areas.

Main Responsibilities, Tasks and Duties:

• Manage the recruitment process across all departments maintaining the highest professional courtesy and response as the first point of contact for the school.

 • Ensure compliance with relevant internal policies and procedures as well as external requirements (including relevant employment legislation, safer recruitment compliance and relevant codes of practice)

• Provide HR advice and guidance to the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and staff

• Support the implementation of HR strategy through delivery of delegated projects

• Maintain an accurate HR database

• Maintaining confidentiality is critical to this role

Essential Desirable
Education and Qualifications

▪ CIPD qualified (preferably intermediate - Level 5) or equivalent

 

▪ Good general level of education to include Maths and English

 

▪ Evidence of continuing professional development

Job Experience and knowledge

▪ Successful recent experience of providing HR services at a professional level.

 

▪ Substantive generalist HR experience.

 

▪ Specialist skills and knowledge in HR including the legal statutory compliance framework of recruiting, employing and terminating the employment of staff.

 

▪ Ability to be first point of contact for staff regarding all HR matters.

 

▪ Fully conversant and up-to-date with all aspects of employment law and HR best practice.

 

▪ Knowledge of safeguarding in schools.

 

▪ Experience and knowledge of using a computerised HR system or data management system to manage services and provide information to users.

▪ Providing HR management within an educational or similar institution.

 

▪ Knowledge and understanding of the school sector.

 

▪ Experience in the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures in an effective and productive manner.

 

▪ An understanding of health and safety and its importance in the workplace.

 

▪ An understanding of child protection and its importance within schools

▪ Possesses a high attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to delivering excellent service.

 

▪ Ability to analyse complex problems and provide empathy when needed.

▪ Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, email and the Internet.

 

▪ Strong IT skills using a variety of platforms.

 

▪ Able to produce analytical data and report to a comprehensive standard.

 

▪ Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, be pro-active and self-motivated, understanding priorities and managing workload effectively.

 

▪ Excellent organisational skills and ability to work accurately.

 

▪ Ability to interpret, work within and apply all school policies

Salary & Benefits

£35,175 - £36,251 (NMS Pay Scale) dependent on experience (pro-rata)

Part-time: 4 days (30 hours per week)
