Why choose Northease
Northease Manor School is a DCSF and CReSTed approved co-educational day and weekly boarding school for students with Specific Learning Difficulties. We are a small school with a friendly and welcoming approach. We have just under one hundred students who are aged between ten and seventeen.
We are known and respected for providing excellent quality teaching, therapy and pastoral support for individuals with a wide range of learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and dyscalculia, attention deficit disorder (ADD), and social and communication difficulties. All students are of average and above average intelligence.
Our school was founded in 1963 and is situated in a magnificent Grade II listed Tudor Manor House, nestled in the beautiful Sussex countryside at the foot of the South Downs. The space and openness of our location sets the tone for the whole experience of being part of Northease.
The majority of our students have experienced difficulties in their previous educational placement. The most common areas of concern are problems with reading, spelling, writing and numeracy. The anxiety around these issues has often led to the student developing low self-esteem or lack of confidence and sometimes results in a breakdown of relationships with peers or teachers. By providing individualised or small group programmes that satisfy the complex learning and emotional needs of the whole child, we can transform a student’s experience of education and school life.
Northease can provide your child with the opportunity to achieve the best possible academic results by providing stimulating teaching and an environment for learning that works for each individual. But more than this, Northease inspires confidence and independence, respect and responsibility and a sense of belonging that will enable them to move forward into adult life.
